TVR Grantura Mk 2 1962 entered into the January 30th Classic Car Auction.
TVR Grantura Mk 2, 1622cc engine producing 91bhp at 5500rpm. 0-60 in 9.6 seconds with a top speed of 107mph. Registered 15/5/1962. Deep blue with tan trim. Hand built at the TVR factory in Blackpool, the Grantura is the first of a long line of TVR cars which made its debut in 1958. This particular car is a Mk2, with the MGA engine and desirable front disc brake option. It is also fitted with a ‘racing’ bonnet with extra louvres which may well be unique. Owned by the previous keeper for 39 years, it has been dry stored and well maintained as shown by the substantial history file. Only around 400 Mk 2 granturas were manufactured, and few remain. Eligible for many historic events including the Le Mans classic, this is a real drivers car in great condition with very few owners, and its original registration number. chassis 7/B/515, engine 1211421RS.
