Ford Capri 280 Brooklands 1987

The Brooklands Capri ran from chassis no ending GG10859 to GG11896, the vendor’s chassis no is GG11135 making it 276 on the production line.  The vendor purchased the car from a garage in Manchester, who specialises in restoring Capris’  Prior to the vendor buying the car it was given a full recommissioning and the front wings were replaced  The Vendor states he regularly used the car without any issues and it was always well received at shows and attracted a lot of attention.  The car sits on its original wheels and the carpets and the leather Recaro seats in grey leather with ox-blood piping are in excellent order and the vendor also has the original Ford stereo.  The engine is smooth and still pulls as it should do, states the vendor.   The sound from the 2.8 V6 Cologne engine brings a rush of blood to your brain.  She has an after market alarm / immobiliser and while   the car is in his ownership he has only replaced the rear window rubber seals and he wanted us to point out that he never has had any over-heating problems. The car is sold with an MOT, expiring 6.9.19

Auctioneers Notes: Sadly, the car is registered on the ‘total loss register’ it was damaged on the 2^nd of January 1991.  There is a very comprehensive history file starting in April ’91 and importantly there is an invoice in September ’91 for the crash repairs, which comes to a total of £897.70 and reading the invoice if looks if the car suffered a front and rear end bump.  For instance, the tail gate was repaired and the front wings were repaired, but prospective buyers must draw their own conclusion from reading the file.  In 1991 a Mr. Taylor purchased this car owned her until 2004.  Incidentally, DVLA say that there are only 3 previous keepers.  Mr. Taylor started this history file which is very comprehensive, she even has the original service book with 3 service stamps, which shows that she was sold new to T.Bush of Billingsgate Market.  This is a fun car and sounds terrific, not a show queen, but very usable.  May be viewed by appointment.  For your information, we believe there are only 500 Brookland’s Capris’ made.
