1974 Austin Mini 23,748 (Warranted) £10,750.00 + buyers premium

Description:

This unique Austin mini was built to order in 1974 using a genuine Mk1 shell, and 1275 Cooper S running gear. The engine is a Morspeed modified 1293cc Cooper S unit, with cooper S 11 stud head, twin SU carbs, an all synchro Cooper S gearbox, Hardy Spicer couplings, cooper S disc brakes, oil cooler, Peco ‘armoured’ exhaust, and twin fuel tanks. Slight negative camber front and rear makes for great handling.
Interesting bespoke features include positioning of the brake servo and vacuum tank under the rear seat, with lines running inside the car, fuel pump in a special compartment in the boot, overhead instruments, radio, and switches for numerous period extras- electric aerial, spot and fog lamps, parking light, rear wiper, and Triplex heated rear screen. It has the larger Mk2 rear lights, and reversing lights let in to the boot lid. The interior has black Mk2 Cooper seats, padded vinyl panels, polished wood dash and door cappings, and red carpet.
A comprehensive file accompanies the car, showing its one previous owner and very low mileage history. It documents the correct registration process with DVLA in 1974, and has receipts for almost everything used in the build ( for example from Stewart and Ardern Ltd, Mike Coombe Racing, Morspeed Conversions, Mann Egerton, Snoxalls garage Ltd, etc). Beautifully made to emulate the very expensive 1960s coachbuilt minis, this is an opportunity to buy a one off classic Mk1 which looks and behaves like a Cooper S without spending a king’s ransom.
