Triumph Dolomite Sprint 1980 entered into the July 25th Classic Car Auction
This is one of the last Dolomite Sprints made, the leaders in the multi-valve high performance saloon cars. They are fitted with a 2 litre SOHC 16v engine producing 125 bhp, giving a performance of 0-60 in 8.4 seconds, top speed 119 mph. This is a fantastic example, having been, we think, in store for most of its life. The total mileage to date is 63,238. In May ’89 her total mileage was 53,316. There is a history file with letters from previous owners, recording the detailed work carried out in April ’96, mileage reading 62,574. There are photographic records of the re-build as well. Couple this with the notes from the first owner from 88 miles to 60,226, the conclusion the vendor and I have come to is that the mileage must be correct. Incidentally the invoice for the re-build dated May 96 was £1,373.11. She comes with the original service pack, which is complete, down to its blue plastic cover. The vendor has owned this beautiful car for 3 years and is the forth owner. The previous owner had the car from November 1990. She is finished in white with black vinyl roof and original tan valour interior which, including the carpets, is in near concourse condition. I think this car is very sensibly priced and will give the new owner many years of motoring fun. By the way, she is fitted with a 4-speed gear box with overdrive.
