Rover 80 1961 entered into the January 30th Classic Car Auction.

Vendor purchased this car in October 2009. Finished in slate grey with blue leather interior. The car was resprayed in its original colour in 2011 along with having new rear wheel valances, wheel arches and a brand new windscreen. The vendor was informed by the previous owners widow that the car has had a replacement engine. It is believed that the current odometer reading is for the new engine. There is a folder of receipts dating back to 1972 and the oldest MOT dates back to 1985. Also comes with original logbook and a receipt from its last owner for purchase in 1971. Vendor claims it regularly returns 26mpg. The original registration has been valued at £2k. The car was featured on the cover of the rover p4 guild overdrive magazine in march 2014. This vehicle has been regularly serviced and since being with its current owner has had a new clutch, replacement gearbox, overdrive and prop shaft. The rover p4 was designed Colin Bashford and they ran from 49-64. Its interesting to note that Grace Kelly owned one. The 80 is powered by a 2.3ltr ohv engine producing 80 BHP and could obtain 85mph importantly have od fitted enables the owner to cruise at high speed.
