Volvo 122S Amazon 1963 - SOLD £950
This Volvo has overdrive and was driven to the auction from Salisbury. The speedo reads 78355, but it has not had a speedo cable for the past 3 years so the vendor suspects the true mileage is somewhat more than that. Cable has now been replaced. Vendor states that structurally the car is sound, and has had both wings and one rear wheel arch replaced in recent years. The car shows little sign of rust, but the vendor suspects the other wheel arch which has been filled, will need to be replaced in due course. The floor pans are all fine, and there’s no serious rot in the doors. The ‘122s’ badges from the wings come with the car but haven’t been refitted to the wings. It still has its original rubber floor covering – now pretty well torn / worn. The paintwork could do with a little TLC but the interior is in fairly good condition.
Work completed by the vendor in the last two years –
“Replaced ; steering tie rods, bottom ball joints, top wishbone bushes, lots of brake pipes in copper, front brake pads and pins, horns from a Volvo 850, dip switch. Rear radius arm donut bushes, 1 rear radius arm, new, painted and filled with oil to stop it going rusty!
Overhauled clutch hydraulic system, new seals in slave cylinder. Pulled the rear drums and all seemed nearly new in there, replaced a handbrake cable with a new one. Put in some replacement headlights which take halogen bulbs, so good lights. The correct wing badges are with the car but not stuck on, along with the b18 engine badge for the bootlid. ”
This car is very sound and solid, not a rust bucket. The vendor is only selling because his wife does not like the car! The 122S is the one to have.
