Rover 80 1961 – SOLD £6360.00

By March 9, 2015 No Comments

This car was supplied new in February 1961. The 1st owner kept it until 1987. It was thought to have been in storage much of this time. In 1988 the car changed hands and was recommissoned with the mileage showing 52798. In 1996 the car was exported and registered in Ireland where it remained cherished as part of a small collection in County Louth and only clocked up a further 9000 miles. It is in effect a four owner car. Condition is original throughout. The chassis and bodywork are unrefurbished with the exception of the Norse Blue lower paintwork which was touched up in 1988, believed to have been necessitated by slight damage caused from its time in storage. It cannot be emphasised how sound and genuinely smart this car is. Drives as well as it looks with it clocking up an uneventful 60 miles recently. Period details such as the cross ply tyres, the working His Masters Voice radio, the complete small tool kit with original touch up paints, large tools including tyre pump and the delightfully patinated leather seats add further authenticity. Mileage is believed legitimate though you will have to make up your own mind on this due to lack of corroborating paperwork. Comes with original handbook, Heritage Certificate, copies of previous registration documents, one old MOT and a small quantity of receipts. Currently Irish registered though still sporting its attractive UK number. NOVA provided along with assistance in registering in the UK
