Jaguar MK2 MOD 1962 entered into the January 30th Classic Car Auction.

‘A Southern Rhodesia supplied car in excellent condition”
The 3.4 MOD is regarded by many to be the best and most usable of the MK 2 line up. This example was sold new by Sagers, Bulawayo, Rhodesia to a D L Hughson of Salisbury Southern Rhodesia in July 1962. Invoices from 1996 for a cylinder head overhaul at 79,000 miles show the car was then in Cape Town while in 1997 the car was exported to Ireland. Having escaped been driven on salt treated roads, this Jag remains in very solid condition with excellent underside. Within the last ten years the car has undergone substantial refurbishment with a fresh coat of Opalescent Silver Blue paint as well as the seats being reupholstered in navy leather with new carpets and door cards also fitted. There are also replacement stub axles and chrome wire wheels shod with new tyres . To improve usability the car has been transformed with a ZF power steering rack and pinion kit. Also it has been converted to alternator, has a 123 distributor fitted as well as electric choke activation. Front and rear seat belts can also been found. Extensive history file goes back to 1996 and includes receipts for work carried out, photo record, Heritage Certificate as well as other miscellaneous correspondence. The original handbook is also present. A fine turn-key example in an attractive colour. Currently  Irish registered, we will assist with UK registration.
