Year Make Model Mileage ESTIMATED SALE PRICE
1938 MG TA 10,600 (Not Warranted) £18,000 - 20,000

Originally bought and used by Lancashire Police Force, ca 1938. The car was bought by a Canadian Serviceman in 1945 who shipped it to Canada. It stayed there and in the USA until 2016 when it was repatriated to the UK and sold at Auction. I bought the car from Sussex Sportscars of Lewis. In my ownership the wiring loom was tidied up and various bulbs/horn made good. The rev counter and time clock replaced (the original is with the car) and a period police type spotlight fitted. The original registration was CTF 921 It appears in Andrea Green’s book “MG’s on Patrol”. This identity has been certified by the MG Owners Club (all in the paperwork)

Auctioneers Notes: The reason why this excellent example of a pre war MGTA, which is 83 years young, is because the vendor, who lives in Bristol, has lost his garage due to re-development.
Now to the service file: Sadly, we now have only the invoices from 2016 plus one or two in the early nineties. Apparently, the story goes that the American owner’s wife binned the history as she thought it was unimportant. However, it is mentioned in Andrea Green’s book “MG’s on Patrol” and a copy of this interesting book is in the file. There are many catalogues and articles, one the new owner will find very interesting is a copy which appeared on the May 25th 1938 edition of the Motor Trader which was titled “Actual TA in Detail” This car is going to give the new owner great enjoyment and will put a smile on his face. I like the patina of the interior and she is running on wider rims than standard. This will help and improve the handling and the ride. The bodywork has a few small blemishes to be expected in such an old vehicle. May be viewed strictly by appointment.
