Description:Auctioneers Notes: After a nice drive from Dorchester to Wareham across country, avoiding all the tourists, we arrived to inspect this MGB GT, which sadly comes under the heading “yes I am going to restore this – but, hang on, I never seem to find the time”. Seriously though, the vendor has done a lot of detective work tracing the ownership of the car, right back to the first owner, a lady from Bristol, who purchased the car when new in 1974. It is all listed, right to the present day – please see appendix written to the vendor by the previous owner. The history file has a list of all the invoices and costs spent by the vendor. This is a very sound, apparently rust free example, which was painted at some time in the past by a complete amateur. The good part about it is she is a matching numbers car. To sum up, you can use this car as a very good starter classic and restore when time allows. She is sold at no reserve as a running restoration project. She is fitted with overdrive but the vendor is not sure if it is working. This is a really great opportunity for someone. |
