It was a great pleasure to meet the owner of this beautifully restored MGBGT and see his collection of 6 English Sports Cars, all in top condition including MGA Roadster, Lotus Cortina MKI etc. We will start with the body work. In May 2010 there is an invoice from Spray Craft of Dagenham for £3560 (the owner had stripped out all the glass, chrome, interior trim, all mechanical components) To prep body work after shot blasting apply 4 coats of Etch Primer to bare body, apply 2 coats of 2-pack primer, apply 6 top coats, flat and polish. Now you can see how special this car is. On the mechanical side there are bills for parts only in excess of £13,000 add in the cost of the full restoration of the interior, including re-trimmed seats in black leather with white piping. You will have noted there is no labour charge in any of these costings. She sits on new chrome wire wheels.
