This car is from a collection of 14 that have been entered into the auction from a private collector.

This car was purchased by the current owner for his extensive collection of vehicles, but before the current owner purchased the car it was modified from a 3.8ltr standard engine of the time to a 4.2ltr later style engine to give it better performance, with a  floor change later version automatic box. This modification came with some other improvements to the engine, including an oil cooler and a slightly improved suspension system on the front. This 1961 model was again the last in a long line of Jaguars with a chassis, as the next saloon offered by Jaguar was to be the MKX, which was the first monocoque body built by the company. The car drives as it should and is very comfortable, which is typical of these large gracious cars. The current mileage of 54,300 although not warranted, is just a guide especially that the engine is of a later vintage.

The interior and the seats have been refurbished previously, which gives the correct impressions when driving this impressive car. It has been re-sprayed to the original two tone colour of dark and light grey, which enhances the style of this beautifully designed car. It has a very roomy feel and the deep refurbished red leather seats give a sense of occasion to any drive. The beautiful stylish lines of this car are a pleasure to look at and the current owner has purchased new red felt door rubbers and clips to match the interior, but has not had time to fit it at this stage, although quite easy to do so. New red carpets have also been fitted, to improve the whole look of this classic. It also sports a Tow Bar which was fitted some time ago and is ideal for that classic caravan you have always wanted.
