This E Type is a British car, right hand drive with manual gearbox., triple carburettors and limited slip differential. It is a series 1.5 of which approx only 1200 of this model were made. The vendor acquired the car in 1995 and during his ownership he had the bodyshell renovated and some panels replaced by an ex Jaguar panel beater. The metal work on the body is all very good and the rear wheel arches are excellent and rust free (the vendor asked for them to be filled over so no water and mud could sit in the rust traps and cause problems). When completed the bodyshell had a bare metal respray in Signal Red and was thoroughly waxoyled to keep any moisture out.
The car was then rebuilt using many new parts, a new clutch was fitted, Lumenition electronic ignition was also fitted, some retrimming of the interior and new Wilton carpets and wool headlining finished off the interior.
When the car was finished it was used periodically on dry days for trips around the New Forest and the odd pub lunch plus appearances at the classic car shows on Poole Quay until a house move forced it into temporary storage. Temporary unfortunately became permanent and the car stayed in store for some years so it will appreciate a change of oils, filters and fluids and a check over before going back on the road.
When its driven again the new owner will either love watching the huge bonnet lift as it grips the road and accelerates or they will enjoy taking this big comfortable lazy car for a smooth relaxing drive.
The vendor tells us he obviously didn’t intend to sell it which is why he kept it for 26 years but he he now feels guilty as this beautiful Jag cannot stay inside a garage for any longer and needs to be used and appreciated.

History file includes: maintenance invoices from 1987, 1988, invoices for an engine recondition in 1982 by The Jaguar Engine Shop, invoice 1996 brake cylinders,  invoice for a clutch kit in 1997 plus other parts including rubber and chrome and carpets, service invoice 1997, various invoices from Martin Robey Jaguar covering 1996 and 1995, invoices from Jag Shop from 1999 to 2001 plus various invoices for small parts dating from 1987 to 2001, old MOTs from 1975, 1977, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002.

Auctioneers notes: This E-Type presents very well, excellent gaps, especially the way the bonnet sits. NB SHE HAS NOT BEEN USED FOR MANY YEARS” will need recommissioning before it is driven on the public highway, the interior is tidy and original.
