Lot No: 70
Year Make Model Mileage SOLD FOR
1950 Ford Pilot 78,500 (Not Warranted) £12,200.00 + buyers premium

Description:

Auctioneers Notes:

Lots of interesting reading in the history file and invoices from 1999 plus old MOT’s and tax discs and, importantly, she has the original buff log book, date stamped 2nd November 1950. It is worth noting she has had recently a new water pump, electronic distributor and a 12 volt alternator (that is a great improvement, originally they were 6 volt systems) plus a new carb. and battery. The running boards have been replaced with genuine new parts and she also has new road springs. It all adds up to a well-presented car with enough grunt for today’s roads, 3.6 lit. V8 flat head producing 81 HP giving a top speed of 80 miles per hour. Motor Sport history, Ken Wharton, drove a Pilot to victory in the 1950 Tulip Rally and the 1950 Lisbon International Rally. This is a sound car which will give a lot of enjoyment in the future.
