This 1984 Ford Capri 2.8 injection was purchased by the existing keeper in April 1991 by the owner’s wife as a gift. He had always wanted a 2.8 injection Capri after owning a mk11 previously but he never put his priorities first but those of his family. Luckily for him a car was advertised locally in Lytchett Matravers.

As an ex Aston martin and ford gt40 mechanic he systematically maintained the vehicle himself. He was part of the famous Ford GT 40 team as a gearbox engineer.
It was used as his daily driver up until 2006 when he was able to benefit from selling part of his property. He had a purpose-built garage built to house the Capri. With retirement pending and the thought of planning restoration and holidays abroad and grandchildren. Things took a turn for the worse and he was diagnosed with throat cancer. As always with these things’ priorities change and things get put on the back burner and the Capri has been undercover since. Happily, with treatment and surgery he was given the all clear 5 years ago. The Capri however was replaced with a modern new Honda and although the heart wants to drive a 2.8 injection Capri the head and body knows better.

A testament to the quality of maintenance the car has received through the years shows as the vehicle has just been mot’d with no advisories after 14 years sitting in its dehumidified surroundings untouched. The vendor now wishes it goes to a new home to start a new chapter. The history file includes MOTs from 1991 when the vendor purchased the car, although the current mileage of 134,982 is believed correct we cannot warranted it due to the early history not being present.
