Description:Auctioneer’s notes: This is a stunning Daimler SP250, first registered in July 1960. The vendor has looked after and cherished this car for 21 years (cars suffer from the tin worm, us mortals it is arthritis) that is why she has come to market. There are 2 A4 Files and an A4 Folder which has 6 handwritten “Motor Car Maintenance Log Books ” from new to 54,000 miles and a good number of invoices. In the first A4 File (which advertises Coca Cola) you will find a DVD of the engine rebuild, old V5’s and MOT’s – some of the MOT’s go back to ’66 – and you even have a December ’65 Tax Discs plus others. Most importantly, you have the original buff log book, dated 26.7.60 You will also find a typed history of the car up to the previous owner and the car has only had (including the vendor) 4 owners. The second A4 Folder (blue) contains a great number of invoices including one for £5357 dated January ’12 for that complete engine rebuild and another for £10,804 which included a complete re-trim, new mohair hood and then she had a base layer (fibreglass body) respray. These files show that in all of its 61 years she has been maintained regardless of cost. It is worth noting that she has been upgraded to the B Spec i.e. the bulk head has been strengthen and she has been fitted with overdrive and wire wheels and bumpers.
