Chevrolet Corvette 1987

Imported and registered in 1988 and sold new by Baur Millet. 3 owners until 1993 when it was sold to Mr Jarvis with 48k on the clock. All invoices and MOTs included from 1992.
The vendor purchased this car in August 2007 because he rashly entered the “Cannonball Run Classic” organised by a company in the UK to run from Seven Oaks to Puerto Banus on the Costa Del Sol. Since the film was made in 1991 all entrants had to have pre 91 cars. He tells us he had always liked American cars and coveted a Corvette, he was lucky enough to buy this car from a Mr Jarvis who had owned it for the previous 14 years.
Despite having been regularly maintained by Mike, the vendor took the precaution of having a complete service and replacement of all belts and breakable parts keeping the removed ones as possible spares on the 2000 mile trip (included with the car).
Needless to say the car sailed through the trip and the only thing they put in was petrol! Since then it has done trips to the South of France, Brittany and Flanders. The vendor states he has always kept it garaged, serviced and MOT’d recently with particularly low miles between MOTs.
There are a number of spares included with the car, door rubbers etc plus the original Bose radio declared not working when the vendor purchased it however nowadays these things can be repaired economically.
The vendor tells us he has ended up keeping it all this time because every time he drives it, it puts a smile on his face.. plus his grandkids call it the Lightning McQueen car! “I would sell this car to a friend/ relative without compunction, it is in this auction because I can’t bear the thought of boy racers viewing and wanting to test drive.”
