D823PVP is the 3rd BMW `Shark Nose` 2 door coupe I have owned; the other 2 being a BMW 3litre coupe CSL and another BMW 635CSI. I have always loved the 2 door coupe shape and style.

D823PVP came into my ownership back in 2010 when I saw her advertised in Camberley, Surrey and I just had to buy her when I saw her and I thought then and still do that the chrome trim just totally enhanced the `ageless` shape and style.

When I purchased her she still had the original tyres fitted when she left the factory….and still with plenty of tread left. They were the 1st item replaced!!

During my ownership my wife and I took her to numerous BMW Car Club meetings and Classic Car Meets in Kent and Devon, and she always drew admiring glances mainly to her originality and overall classical styling.

In the last 10+ years she has spent most of her life in a garage or barn and whilst she may not have been used for sometimes as long as 6 months, she always fired up on 1st turn of the key after fresh petrol had been pulled through. In my ownership I can honestly say she never let us down or broke down, hopefully testament to the quality build and the way we looked after her. A total 1980`s driving experience to enjoy with her timeless style, grace AND pace.

Her originality is superb with <49K miles since new and, to the best of my knowledge she has not been crashed, repaired, resprayed or restored. A quite special car and 635.

In 2019 she had a stainless steel exhaust fitted as an original item could not be located and more recently all 4 x ABS sensors have been changed and I was fortunate to track down original parts from BMW in Germany.

Sadly circumstances in our personal life over the last 18+ months now dictate that she goes to a new home. She will be sorely missed but I am sure  will give many years of pleasure and smiles to her new owner.

Appendix 1 – Recent bill for work carried out

Auctioneers Notes: This BMW 635CSI has got to be the very best on the market. The vendor tells us that she is totally original and to the best of his knowledge she has never been painted and that includes the wheels and the total mileage from new is 48,860. She was supplied by Alec Norman (Garage) Ltd. of Bedford. She has 19 service stamps in the book and the book pack is complete together with 22 previous MOT’s. There is another file of invoices going back to ’95 and the last invoice is dated 6.2.21 – see appendix 1. She has had 4 previous owners and the vendor acquired this beautiful Coupe on 25.11.10. The previous owner to him had the car for 18 years.
Included in all the paperwork is an original sales brochure and a technical data information booklet. The reason that this outstanding car has come to SWVA is that sadly, after a long illness, the vendor’s wife passed away and the BMW represents what they enjoyed together as a couple and that is why this beautiful car has only covered a few miles in the last 18 months. She truly is “the ultimate driving machine”. May be viewed when allowed, strictly by appointment.
