Very reluctantly, the vendor has decided that due to impending retirement, it is time to part with “Bertie”. He has owned the vehicle since 2011 and fastidiously maintained it regardless of cost.
He tells us the vehicle is in lovely condition, resplendent in Shell Grey over Black Pearl Metallic with red leather interior and classic burr walnut trim, bearing the original registration of SYE313. The extensive history file includes a plethora of old MOTs and invoices going back to the early 1960’s and suggests the mileage of 156,000 could be genuine although this cannot be guaranteed. The vendor states that during his ownership everything has worked as it should except the clock which is permanently set to “Pimms o’clock”!
This vehicle underwent a light restoration in the 1990’s and, apart from the paintwork which was refreshed at the time, it is still in very original condition. During the vendor’s ownership he has had the braking system completely stripped and refurbished, the suspension rebuilt, the near side king pin has been replaced and engine oil leaks addressed, all work being carried out by Bensport of Ilton a renowned classic Bentley specialist.
Glides along beautifully and copes with modern traffic. Well known in the Crash Box & Classic Car Club and winner of “Best member’s Car” at the historic vehicle gathering at Powderham Castle in 2014.
