Description:The vendor has looked after this car for a number of years, servicing and doing anything mechanical that was required for the previous keeper who had a large collection of vintage, veteran and classic cars. Eventually the time came for him to recommend the then owner should have the body restored professionally which he did in around 2013. He then decided to sell the car which he had actually owned since he was a student and the vendor purchased it from him although it was in his daughters possession as he had given it to her. Auctioneers notes: The vendor, a retired engineer, started a small business with his pal (both Austin Seven enthusiasts) servicing and repairing only Austin Sevens. The previous owner purchased this car as a restoration project when he was in university back in 1954/55 so it was in his families ownership for 65 years. Pictures included in the file show the student before and after the restoration project. Recent records of work carried out on the car are also included. This is an excellent example of this iconic piece of motoring history now 88 years young. |
