Description:

Auctioneers notes:

This Austin A110 de Luxe is absolutely fantastic. She was restored to the highest standard some 5 – 6 years ago, sadly there is no paperwork, but just looking at this car indicates that the recommissioning was carried out by very professional persons.

The interior is superb, if I have any criticism at all the floor mats when cleaned came back a shade or two out. Under the bonnet – and let me push the point – this car has not been prepped for sale – she is as she is just a beautiful sight. The history is interesting, the Heritage Certificate shows she was built between the 14th to 18th of June l965 and was sent to the coach builders, Windsor Motor Co. for conversion to an estate car, they were well known for their conversions. But luckily for us today, this did not happen and it was sold to the first owner, a Mr. Sergeant in the I.o.W in 1967, all the papers are in the file including B.M.I.H.T. There is a DVLA history of ownerships and Mr. Sergeant, the first owner was related to the following 2 owners. There is a very interesting letter from his nephew which we will publish on line. He owned the car to the 5th of June 06. Included in the file is a hand-written log by the vendor of all journeys completed, which shows that the car has only covered 2,500 miles in the 4 years he has owned her. Also we have some old tax discs back to 1968 until 2015, an MOT history record, but not complete. We have to be careful on this point but it is believed that she has gone into storage in the early part of this century. The actual maintenance and service records only go back to 2011 but in the file there is a invoice for £1176 for the annual service and fitting electric fan, dated 11/16 and other invoices, including 1 in 2011 for a new stainless steel exhaust. The de Luxe 110 came with leather upholstery and this one was ordered with automatic transmission and power steering. 5 new Michelin tyres have just been fitted of a cost of just over £1,000. There is a separate file containing dozens or so original mint sales brochures and books on technical specs and even an original colour chart for that period plus a set of spare keys. I cannot recommend this car more strongly, and when you consider what you have to pay for a Mark II Jaguar, the estimate looks very realistic and bear in mind this 3 lit. engine is running on twin carbs, pokes out a respectable 120 BHP. This is a rare car, only 500 de Luxe cars were ever produced and they were only built for one year, 1965 This car is well-known in the COOC Club and has won numerous awards over the past few years. May be viewed by appointment.
