By September 9, 2014 No Comments

Austin Seven 1936 entered into the October 31st Classic Car Auction.

RSK 478, declared manufactured 1936, chassis255594, engine M204376. MOT to 28/4/2015.
This superb aluminium bodied special was built by Mr F.A. Claxton, an engineer and Austin seven enthusiast, between August 1986 to February 1992. All genuine original parts were used and it was inspected and registered in 1992. The car drives perfectly, and although MOT and Tax exempt it does have a current MOT certificate with no advisories. There is a remarkably comprehensive build record with diagrams, descriptions and photographs, and a complete log of ‘Risky’s’adventures and development since completion. Virtually everything was rebuilt and everything remains in great condition.
In brief this seven comprises a 1936 chassis, Austin Big 7 front axle, Ruby rear axle, flattened front and rear springs. Boxed radius arms, 17″ wheels. The 747cc engine is rebuilt and uprated with a phoenix crank. The crank, clutch and flywheel have been dynamically balanced. Four speed gearbox. With help from several expert Austin Seven club members this fantastic special has been expertly hand built over a long period and continued to be improved whilst in use. To complete a project like this at today’s prices would cost a small fortune.
