1961 Morris Mini Minor

By June 24, 2013 No Comments

Registration no 1732 LT, the original number. Registered the 30th January 61, owned by this remarkable gentleman for 51 years. The vendor is the third owner. We have the original buff logbook, issued in March ’61, plus driver’s handbook. The history file is of recent years. There are receipted bills for £1858 between 2011 and 2013. It is worth noting that the vendor is a highly qualified engineer, the bills are for parts only. The car was in use until 1971 when it was laid up, and then recommissioned, as above shows. The body was repaired using heritage panels. The present engine is a 998cc fitted with a ‘cooper type head’ with twin carbs and full flow manifold. It has a new clutch and the engine has had a complete overhaul, see invoices. The gear box is recently new and she runs on a 3.4 diff. It still has the original rear and front subframes. The vendor says the total mileage is about 40000. It goes like a rocket, a very sound basis for a possible classic rally car.

Condition: Body 2-3 No Rust, Interior 3, Mechanically 1(says the vendor)

Estimated sale price: £900 – £1,500

Sold for £2,650 at July 2013 Classic Car Auction
